Broward County August 20, 2020 –  Emergency Order 20-21, is replaced in its entirety with Attachment 2 to allow on-premises dining until 11 p.m., to limit the sale of alcohol for off-site consumption between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., and to clarify that billiards tables and similar games must remain closed. Broward County July 8, 2020 – COVID-19 cases, positivity rates and hospitalizations in Broward continue to rise. Emergency Order 20-21 updates all 18 attachments which outline guidelines for types of businesses and activity. It increases penalties for non-compliance. First instance of a business citation results in a 24-hour closure, with each subsequent citation incurring an additional 72 hours of closure. Restaurants and other food establishments must discontinue on-premise consumption of food and alcoholic beverages between 10PM – 5AM. Seating at restaurants and food establishments is limited to six per table unless everyone is from the same household, where the limit is 10 per table.

Broward County – July 1, 2020 As the number of COVID-19 cases and the positivity rate continue to rise across all South Florida counties including Broward, Deputy County Administrator Monica Cepero issued Emergency Order 20-20.

The order addresses who must wear facial coverings, and when and where they must be worn . It also limits hours for restaurants and food establishments. Specifically, no establishment will be permitted to serve alcohol or food for on-site consumption between the hours of Midnight and 5AM. Take out, delivery, drive-through, or pickup will be permitted.

Residents are urged to call 311 or visit Mybroward.Broward.org to anonymously report violations.

Broward County – June 17, 2020 County Administrator Bertha Henry issued Emergency Order 20-18 today, which outlines penalties for establishments that fail to comply with Emergency Orders mandating sanitization, social distancing, facial coverings and other requirements intended to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Emergency Order 20-17 Issued – Outlines retail establishments and restaurants signage requirements:

County Administrator Bertha Henry issued Emergency Order 20-17, which requires retail establishments and restaurants to post signage containing information regarding social distancing and facial covering requirements, to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Signs must be conspicuously placed throughout these establishments, including at all entry points. Signs must be at least 8 1/2 x 11″ and posted in multiple languages (minimum English, Creole and Spanish). See below for signage.

Broward County Partial Reopening May 18, 2020
Governor Ron DeSantis approved a phased reopening plan for Broward County businesses and amenities beginning on Monday, May 18. The plan would allow for the partial reopening of:

Restaurants & Food Establishments
Retails Stores
Personal Services Businesses
Community Rooms & Recreational Amenities in Multi-Family Housing Developments
Public Community Pools & Private Club Pools
Museums

In order to reopen, businesses will need to adhere to strict operating, cleaning, and safety guidelines for employees and customers, along with limitations on capacities and regulations on social distancing. View the complete Broward County Emergency Order 20-10.

Businesses that should be closed include: golf courses, theaters, marinas and boat launches, and real estate sales and real property title services.

City of Oakland Park

April 8, 2020 -The City of Oakland Park is following Monday’s recommendation from the Center for Disease Control with Mayor Matthew Sparks signing Emergency Order 2020-04 – Utilization of Cloth Face Coverings strongly urging everyone to utilize cloth face coverings to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. Oakland Park’s Order specifies utilizing “cloth face coverings when engaging in an essential service or an essential activity.”

Effective March 28, 2020, the City of Oakland Park instituted a “Safer at Home” Order.  The Emergency Order 2020-03 requires residents to stay home, restricts public outings to essential activity, and requires everyone to practice social distancing.  Gatherings of 4 or more persons are prohibited.

Essential businesses must implement certain employee screening and business cleaning protocols listed in the Emergency Order. Houses of Worship are encouraged to live-stream services in lieu of in person gatherings.

The State Order is in concert with federal, county and local Safer at Home Orders, subjecting all persons in Florida to limit their movements and personal interactions outside of their home to only those necessary to obtain or provide essential services or conduct essential activities.

Ron Desantis, Governor of Florida, signed an executive order (Executive Order 20-70 and Executive Order 20-71), regulations to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The regulations are as follows:

All restaurants, bars, taverns, pubs, night clubs, banquet halls, cocktail lounges, cabarets, breweries, cafeterias, and other alcohol and/or food service business establishment within the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Broward County are to close on premises service of customers. (Drive thru, takeout and delivery are permitted.)

All movie theaters, concert houses, auditoriums, playhouses, bowling alleys, arcades, gymnasiums, fitness studios and beaches shall close.   These closures shall expire March 31, 2020, but may be renewed upon the written request of the County Administrator.
