Florida Business Assistance Grants:

Florida Business Assistance Programs:

  • The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)– Effective February 24th, there will be a 14-day exclusive loan period fo businesses with fewer than 20 employees. This includes sole proprietors, independent contractors, and self employed individuals. Click here for more information.
  • U.S. Small Business Assistance 2nd Round of Payment Protection Program (PPP) – reopened for new borrowers and certain existing borrowers. Click here for more information.
  • FPL Main Street Recovery Credit Program – FPL is providing COVID-19 Relief Efforts through their Main Street Recovery Credit Program. They are accepting applications and are offering credits to qualifying small businesses that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Those eligible include:
    • New small businesses
    • Small businesses that were inactive for at least six consecutive months after March 2020
    • Existing small businesses operating in federally designated Opportunity Zones in FPL’s service area

  • The Rebuild Florida Business Loan Fund is making $40 million in state and federal funds available to help with long term economic recovery. The federal fund will assist existing and new businesses that were impacted directly or indirectly by a disaster to rebuild and expand. Administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Business Loan Fund will target industries identified by the state as key strategic markets for future growth and will focus on creating and enhancing the diversification and resiliency of Florida’s economy. The Fund will address the current gap in available, affordable capital for businesses by providing longer term loans with higher funding levels at market interest rates.The Business Loan Fund can provide an eligible business with up to $500,000 in financing for the following purposes:
    • Inventory Purchases
    • Construction or renovation
    • Working capital needs
    • Capital start-up loans
    • Machinery and equipment purchases
    • Equipment financing, and more

  • SOBEWFF & FIU Champlin School Hospitality Relief Fund

    The Miami Downtown Development Authority is partnering with FIU, SOBEWFF, and others to roll out the SOBEWFF & FIU Chaplin School Hospitality Relief Fund.  The fund has raised $1M+ and each qualified applicant can receive up to $15,000 until the fund is exhausted.

    Each restaurant can receive up to $15,000 to assist its employees who have been furloughed, laid off, or whose incomes have been significantly reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Program Details:

    Applicant Pool: Tri-county area independently owned restaurants and bars.

    Fund Use: Only intended for employees who have been furloughed, laid off, or whose incomes have been significantly reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) assistance has been authorized through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to make loans available to small businesses and private, non-profit organizations in the state to help alleviate economic injury caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The information on the application process for Economic Injury Disaster Loan assistance will be made available to all affected communities as well as updated on the SBA website: sba.gov/disaster

The survey, managed by Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), will evaluate businesses affected by COVID-19 and the impacts the virus has had on the local economy so actions to implement appropriate relief programs can begin.
